Out of those various elements this article is about Syllables.

Syllable & Syllable stress

In english language every word can be broken down into syllables. a syllable is that part of the word that has its own induvidual sound. For example: the word 'communication' can be broken down to com/mu/ni/ca/tion. Get the point? well it should be pretty clear by now what a syllable means or how to break down a certain word into syllables. So, what is its role in communication skills? the answer is simple in order to speak effeciently you have to know the correct pronunciation of words that you are using in your sentences. So, how does that apply to syllables?

Every word has syllables as discussed and then there is one syllable in every word that is stressed upon. And this stress is universally agreed upon and so becomes the basis of pronunciation of the particular word. In an example let's take the word 'Article'. This word has three syllables, Ar/Ti/Cle. In this particular word the stress is on the syllable 'Ar'. So, in practise the word 'article' is pronounced as 'Ar/Ti/Cle'. This method applies to all the words in the english language. Now different people from different parts of the world who speak english pronounce these words in different ways, this is because they stress on different syllables. So, in order to speak in a good accent one has to know the correct syllable stress for the corresponding words.
