You can also fill it out online as well. Moreover, there are many school offering free workshops on how to properly fill out education financial aid forms. What’s more, you can still update your form even if you may have submitted it already.

Parents’ income is high to qualify. An education financial aid is meant to make college education accessible to all students regardless of income. However, this aid is usu

ally given to those who are more eligible based on different parameters. Income is just one of the criteria that is used when determining student financial aid. 

An ethnic background is a must to get an aid. Education financial aid programs are usually given to students based on merit and/or need. FAFSA, for instance, does not collect, or is not particular, about this kind of information about their applicants. Forms for grants and private loans are also not allowed to request this type of information as well.

College Education is too expensive. While there may be some really expensive schools, keep in mind that high tuition does not always equate to good education. An affordable education can just be yours by availing of different education financial aid programs such as grants, scholarships, loans or work-study rewards. However, getting an education financial aid does not come easy and it does not wait for you – you have to work for it in order for you to get it.

Private schools are only for the rich. Private schools may give you better chances of getting an education financial aid. This is because there are private schools that have more financial aid available. Thus, cost of education in a private school may be lower than in a public college.

Live at home to cut costs. This may not always be an effective way to cut down on your costs. You need to consider cost of living expenses such as gas, parking fees and others, which may not be cost efficient on your part at all. If you live on campus, however, you can have a better chance of getting an education financial aid such as a work-study program, something that you may not be able to avail of if you live at home.

These are only a few common examples of education financial aid misconceptions. Remember that there is always financial aid available for you. So don’t let these setbacks hinder you from getting an affordable college education. Work for it and get what you deserve!
