Education-most important aspect of our lives

Education is a fundamental human right and this much information is enough to understand the significance of education in human life. But, realization of significance is not only thing which we should know about the education. Here, the basic issue is to explore different perceptions about education and ultimately formation of an ideal concept of education.

There is no doubt that education is a technical competency along with mental, moral and aesthetic development. It may include subject specific guidelines from trained professional teachers. Subject based curriculum determines the domain of knowledge for different age group. Basically, it is based upon the maturity and proficiency of mind. So, entire educational activities centered up on advancement of knowledge, general awareness, and understanding of latest technical update. These activities can be classified as recreational, educational and society oriented activity. Because, the prime aim of such activities is building strong foundation for proficient future. So the fifth century Athenian philosopher ‘Socrate’ said “9*- out of the ideas of universal validity which are latent in the mind of everyman”. Even, Gandhi also quoted special remark upon education, “I mean an all around drawing out of the best in child and man body, mind and spirit”. Thus, the point is very clear that education can be termed as aggregation of all methods whichever enhance capability of a person.

In recent days, narrow sense of education has remarkably developed and it is certainly a major concern for all educational reformists. Under such senses, people take the education as a training undertaken for few years in any symbolic educational institution. However, the very education system must move on every moment in the life of a person for the consistent betterment of life. One should never forget the fact that the growth of society solely depends on the type of adopted educational system. So, the famous entrepreneur and philanthropist George Peabody prominently quoted that education is a debt due from present to future generations. Neither country nor society can survive without education. After electing as the first president of South Africa, Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela also recognized its importance and during the briefing upon his prime targets; he exclusively mentioned the relevance of education in the society and his word was, “education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world”.

While quoting statement like education is the most important aspect of our lives, we sometime miss to mention the importance of experience. Actually, experience is just like the shade of education. In the context of experience and education quotation of a famous American folk singer & political activist Pete Seeger is quite relevant. His quote was “education is when you read the fine print & experience is what you get if you don’t”

education mind you should be not only in school but also on the job as well as on the field expertise plus seminars and other sources of added academic input that helps us advance our position to get promoted.

In a Capitalist system where everything has a price, the costliest educational courses for doctors, pilots, programmers and politicians seem to offer the most monetary reward. As Kunal points out job experience is the most important education one can hope to have.
